These are the some of best years of your child's - shouldn't they be hair care free?

We think so, which is why I started braiding our 2 daughters' hair. No more bad hair days, and crying in the morning because of the way their hair looks!

Now they happily sit for a few hours to get their hair braided, knowing they won't have to do it again for several weeks.

Not only that, but they are complimented everywhere they go on their beautiful braids, and when asked, proudly tell everyone that "our Mommy did it!"

You too can braid your child's hair. It's not that hard...if I can do it, you can too! I'm not a professional hair stylist or cosmetologist, but I have spent years in the chairs of some of the best in the west!

I know how to take care of my hair, and when I had my triplets (2 girls and 1 boy) I knew exactly how to take care of theirs.

If you're the mother or guardian of a child of African American descent, or simply want to learn to style your child's hair in a unique and carefree way, this is the site for you.

10 Reasons Why You Should Learn to Braid Your Child's Hair

  1. Save Money - the cost of paying someone to braid (or perm) a child's hair can add up over time
  2. Save Time - no rushing in the mornings before school or church, plus the time it takes to complete the style is less than all of time it takes to do it daily -- and the styles can last for weeks!
  3. Natural Hair - you can avoid putting relaxers or perms on your child's delicate hair; braiding is an excellent alternative to chemically processed hair.
  4. Helps their hair grow - as long as the braids are not too tight and are cared for properly, your child's hair will grow and remain healthy
  5. Shared Closeness - caring for your daughter's hair is a bonding experience. Spend that time talking one-on-one, asking her about her friends and things she does in school. She'll look forward to having that alone time with you.
  6. Familiar Surroundings - your child will be more relaxed at home than she'll be in a beauty shop or someone else's home. She can watch videos, take frequent breaks, and relax, knowing that if she gets tired, you can stop and continue braiding later (or even the next day). If you're paying someone to braid her hair, they will want to finish as quickly as possible.
  7. Less Stress For You - you will be more relaxed because you're not stressing out about her getting tired or unhappy in a salon, or trying to keep her happy while she's getting her hair done. You can take your time and braid her hair over a weekend.
  8. It's Beautiful - my girls feel and look so beautiful in their braids; it makes them feel good when people tell them that, and I feel good knowing it didn't cost me two arms and a leg!
  9. Versatile - there are many braid styles you can create including cornrows and twists; start simple and as you get more experience, you'll find yourself creating some real masterpieces!
  10. Did I mention it saves TIME, MONEY and AGGRAVATION?
